Japan CCS presented at an international online conference held by the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIPC) of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On March 10, 2022, a Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic “Promotion of CCUS Technologies in the Framework of the Green Bridge Partnership Program” was held by the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIPC).

IGTIPC is a subordinate organization of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, aiming at facilitating the country’s accelerated transition to a green economy by promoting technologies and best practices, business development initiatives and investments.

With a goal of adhering to the Paris agreement objectives that is also coupled with the country’s ambition to reach carbon neutrality, Kazakhstan seeks to widely implement Carbon Capture, Use, and Storage (CCUS) technologies. To draw on other countries’ experiences on introducing and developing CCUS technologies, this international online conference was held with a participation of the world’s leading companies on CCUS, as well as Kazakhstan’s state bodies and industry representatives.

Japan CCS participated in Panel Session No. 2 “CCUS Technologies in Industrial and Energy Sectors” with a presentation entitled “CO2 injection and monitoring of the Tomakomai CCS Demonstration Project”.
